A project/partnership concept paper in support of poor children in Cabatuan, Iloilo, Philippines
Your US$5 can support a day's feeding of 160 pupils in a public school in our remote communities.

Dear co-NGO:

Thank you very much in advance for your kind attention on this email.

Our organisation HBU Inc. is a grassroots NGO engaged in public school feeding of impoverished poor pupils covering the remote communities in Cabatuan, Iloilo. Our official website is http://hbu-inc.webs.com, facebook hbu.association@gmail.com and online fundraising community at http://www.ammado.com/nonprofit/hbu-inc/

The dedicated public school faculty are directly implementing the project, with the pupils' parents helping in the actual cooking and food serving.

On the side, we are working with the school and parents of the beneficiaries to engage in school and home gardening (organic vegetables), waste recycling as well as handicraft entrepreneurial activities to augment the feeding project and possible income opportunity for parents and poor households.

Our small project has gathered community support concerning one school with the dedication of the faculty. And with that working/intervention approach we would like to continuously engage with the school with the feeding plus other complementary activities to serve as a model to be replicated to other public schools and communities. This is indeed a promising plan, and if we would be effective could significantly create an impact in the improvement of the rural communities.

We are doing the fundraising (and sharing this concept note to possible funding partners) in support and in furtherance of the above-mentioned activities.

Just for your additional information also, our organisation is collecting second hand items like clothes, toys, bags, etc. for consequent distribution to intended beneficiaries by way of gift coupons. We gather financial help from well-to-do members of the society, issue the gift coupons to indigent population and that the coupon value could be redeemed from the store. Our organisation's supporters could also buy second hand items directly, proceeds of sale could then be used to support our project activities. There is a monetary consideration involved for a more effective resource distribution (i.e. people get things that they need most) and so as beneficiaries will treasure the value of goods 'given' to them, where in the traditional relief distribution such emphasis may not be always strong.

We would greatly appreciate concerns and possible help from other well-to-do members of our society (including the NGO's) to help us HELP our poor community members, may it be financial, in-kind, technical or other promotional assistance by referring to your network of supporters who may also be interested to support our project.

In due time, you could indicate to us what kind of help or partnership you can possibly extend to our organisation.

Please find attached more formalised public school feeding initiative concept paper that you can refer to when you have time to read, first HBU newsletter as issued last Nov 2010 and the next version is in progress. We'll be glad to share the new version with you as soon as it is ready.

Also attached are three photos of our actual activities and could hopefully give you a better idea about our project.

Thanking you in advance and wish you all the best in your noble work.

Top regards,

Mr. Raymund Bolanos
HBU Inc. President
